Details about the Care Provider :
Falls can be devastating. They can result in a loss of confidence and an increase in anxiety about future falls. The risk of falling increases with age, often results in serious injury and is a common cause of hospital admissions.

Age UK Cheshire's Falls Prevention Project works to reduce the number of people who need to attend the Accident & Emergency Department because they have fallen in their homes.

By carrying out home visits to individuals and talks to groups, we are able to highlight possible hazardous areas within the home and in turn make minor alterations where necessary.

The service is available to anyone over the age of 60 in Chester, Ellesmere Port, Neston and surrounding areas. (West Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group area.) If you are in any doubt about the availability of the service near you then please contact us.

A Falls Prevention Coordinator will telephone you to arrange an appointment to visit. The Coordinator will discuss with you any concerns you may have about falling in your home and look at possible causes.
These may include:

Use of steps and stairs
Access to the bath
Feet and footwear
Rugs etc.
Alterations that are agreed with the Falls Prevention Coordinator are provided free of charge.

Anyone who feels an older person is at risk of falling or who has fallen can contact us, for example health & social care agencies, voluntary organisations, carers, relatives, friends or neighbours. And of course you can contact us yourself.
