Help for Heroes supports men and women who are eligible for the Charity's help. This support is available to all, from every branch of the military, regardless of whether or not they received their wounds on the battlefield, training or at home, or if they develop an illness while in Service, or attributable to their Service.

For example, for the year ending 30 September 2016, Help for Heroes supported individuals in the following ways:

There are over 7,500 members of the two Help for Heroes fellowships for the wounded and their loved ones - the Band of Brothers and Band of Sisters.
Help for Heroes awarded 1,182 grants to individuals to the value of £1.44m.
Help for Heroes has granted £31m to over 60 specialist charity partners, who deliver support on our behalf to beneficiaries from all conflicts.
Help for Heroes Sports Recovery ran 350 events across over 50 sports supporting individuals through sport, from grass roots to elite level.
There has been a 66% increase in the number of Veterans and Armed Forces family members coming to the Charity's new Hidden Wounds psychological wellbeing service for support, bringing the total number supported to 819. It offers help to Veterans and Armed Forces families living with anxiety, depression, stress and anger or alcohol issues. Free and confidential support is provided by Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners by phone, Skype or face to face.
Help for Heroes Career Recovery helps those who leave the military following illness or injury to adapt to civilian life. Our Career Advisors work with Veterans to identify and achieve a new future on Civvy Street. We have over 100 vocational partners to ensure recognised accreditations and qualifications are available to them in the field they wish to pursue.
Support Hubs based at the four Help for Heroes Recovery Centres handle enquiries from individuals all over the UK. They bring together a dedicated team of welfare specialists and development advisers from a range of service charities and organisations. Collectively they offer advice and guidance on a variety of issues from money to health and housing to respite. Each Support Hub is available for day visitors and residents who are still serving, Veterans, their families and carers.
